Loan information in the app and extension

When you use LoanRelay, you work with loan information: borrower names, property addresses, loan numbers, amounts and fees, the documents and LOS fee exports you import, the conditions, follow-ups, and notes you write, the page setups you save for your LOS, and a history of changes. This often includes nonpublic personal information about consumers.

• The desktop app stores this information only on your computer, in an encrypted database and encrypted files in your user folder. The encryption key is protected by your computer’s keychain (macOS) or your Windows sign-in, plus a recovery key that only you hold.
• The browser extension works only on the LOS sites you allow, one at a time, from its panel, and on the example LOS that the app runs on your own computer for training. On those sites it reads the LOS pages you open: loan numbers, fee lines, and form fields. It uses them to compare figures and to fill in values you approved. It sends this information only to the LoanRelay app on the same computer, through your browser’s built-in connection to installed apps. Apart from entering the values you approved into your LOS page (your LOS saves them when you click Save) and reloading that page from your LOS to check what was saved, it doesn’t send anything over the internet. It doesn’t track your browsing.
• Neither the app nor the extension sends loan information, documents, usage data, or crash reports to us or to anyone else. LoanRelay has no accounts and no cloud copy.

Because we never receive this information, we can’t see, change, or delete it. You and your employer control it and are responsible for it, including under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Uninstalling LoanRelay doesn’t delete it; the setup guide explains where it is.

LoanRelay doesn’t yet let you delete individual loans, documents, conditions, or follow-ups, and its history of changes keeps earlier values. To delete loan information, delete the whole LoanRelay data folder (the setup guide explains how). Plan your retention around that until per-loan deletion is available.

Information we do collect

• Email. When you email us, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you write or attach. We use it to reply, support you, and improve LoanRelay. Our email is provided by Google (Gmail), which processes messages under its own terms.
• Feedback files. The app’s Send Feedback option saves a file with your answers, the app version and operating system, counts (such as how many loans, documents, and open items you have), and the types and times of recent errors. It doesn’t include names, addresses, amounts, file names, or document text, unless you type them into your answers, so please don’t. You can preview it. We receive it only if you email it to us.
• Website visits. Our website host automatically receives standard request details, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time, to deliver pages and protect the service. We don’t add analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

The setup page remembers your checklist and the type of computer you chose in your browser’s local storage. It stays in your browser; we can’t see it.

Please don’t send us borrower information, loan documents, or LOS exports, including in support requests.

How we use and share information

We use the information we collect only to communicate with you, provide and support LoanRelay, keep it secure, and meet legal obligations.

We don’t sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to build profiles. We disclose it only to service providers that help us run LoanRelay (our email and website hosts), when the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a transfer of LoanRelay to a successor who agrees to this policy.

Chrome Web Store user data

The use of information received from the extension follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. The extension uses page content only to provide its single purpose, comparing and filling loan fields you approve, and transfers it only to the LoanRelay app on your computer.

How long we keep it

We keep emails and feedback files for as long as we’re working with you, and delete them within 12 months after that, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Website request logs are kept according to our host’s standard retention.

Security

LoanRelay encrypts loan data on your computer and keeps the key in your operating system’s protected storage. Information we hold is kept in accounts protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. If we learn of a breach affecting personal information we hold, we will notify you as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it by emailing prestonbrown835@gmail.com. We will respond within 45 days. We don’t discriminate against anyone for making a request. Depending on your state, including California, you may have additional rights. We honor these requests for all users in the United States, whether or not a state law requires it.

You can stop all collection by not emailing us and uninstalling LoanRelay. You can delete your local LoanRelay data at any time by deleting its data folder.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We don’t track visitors across websites, so Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals don’t change anything. No personal information is sold or shared for advertising either way.

Children

LoanRelay is a business tool for adults and isn’t intended for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, including children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Location

LoanRelay is offered only in the United States. We are based in the United States; our email and website providers may process information in other countries.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version with its date. If a change affects what LoanRelay collects, we will update the policy before the change ships and tell you by email if we invited you, and in the app when you install the version that includes the change.
